Back in the Saddle

Well, here we are. A quick review. This is the new home of the website. Welcome. What's been going on with the writer? Good stuff, actually. In case you missed it, I had a short story published in a literary magazine! That was tremendously exciting. Also, another milestone, I finished my first novel manuscript. That was the first time I've gotten all the way from once upon a time to and they lived happily ever after. You know what that means, right? Time to start the second novel.

And therein lies the problem. I am not sure which direction to go with the second story. Usually I know how the story starts, and I know how the story ends. Not this time. I have a general idea but can't get it off the launch pad. I can't even outline. I think the problem is I can't decide to stick with my chosen genre (see blog post from March 2011, "Naughty Bits") or to go more in a traditional romance direction. But, ya know what? I need to stick to the plan! I made this decision four years ago, for crying out loud, why am I putting myself through this again?

So. With that in mind, I need to decide who my heroine and hero are. One of the will be human, the other not. Now I need to decide which one needs to be saved, and which one is savior. And the everything else that happens after that. The only thing to do is get on that writing horse and ride. Yeehaw!
